Andrew McIntosh

Originally from Westchester County, New York, Andrew graduated high school in Wisconsin. The harsh winters in the Midwest, prompted him to head to Arizona State University where he majored in broadcast journalism at the Walter Cronkite School.

His TV career began in 2001, when he became a bureau reporter in Ardmore, Oklahoma for KTEN news. Six months later he was promoted to weekend anchor/reporter and moved to the station's headquarters in Denison, Texas. After two and a half years of covering everything from ice storms to the Columbia Shuttle disaster, Andrew packed up and moved to the gulf coast in December, 2003.

When he first arrived in Florida, Andrew enjoyed reporting along the white sand beaches in Pensacola as a reporter for WEAR-TV. Then, ten months into his new job, Hurricane Ivan devastated the area. Battling high winds and dangerous conditions, Andrew reported in the middle of it all. It was his first experience covering a storm, but it wasn't his last.

As Ivan recovery efforts were in full swing, four more storms, including Hurricane Dennis and Katrina hit the coast during hurricane season 2005. Several of Andrew's storm-related stories have been featured on CNN and The Weather Channel.

Now away from the coast, Andrew is thrilled to be reporting in the Alamo City, where interesting stories are never in short supply. When he’s not digging up information, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and his dog trigger.
